JACKSON, Tenn. — Kentucky State women's volleyball (8-12, 8-9 SIAC) dropped a hard-fought match in straight sets (18-25, 19-25, 22-25) against Lane College (10-17, 9-9 SIAC) on Saturday at JF Lane Gymnasium. 
 
In the opening set, Kentucky State struggled to find offensive rhythm, finishing with a hitting percentage of -0.067 compared to Lane's 0.176. Lane led throughout, capitalizing on Kentucky State's attack errors to secure a 25-18 win.
 
Set two was another close contest with eight ties, but Lane pulled away late to win 25-19, bolstered by a strong .216 hitting performance. Kentucky State improved with nine kills but remained inconsistent at the net.
 
The third set showcased Kentucky State's best offensive play, recording 11 kills with a .073 hitting percentage. The Thorobreds pushed Lane to eight ties, showing a late rally, but Lane sealed the victory at 25-22.
 
Leading the Thorobreds was Randi Neal, who tallied a team-high seven kills and hit .462. Camri Goodwin contributed three blocks, while Amber Gregory had a strong service game, adding two aces.
