Women’s Volleyball to Host Central State in fight for Third in SIAC West Division

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky State women's volleyball looks to take the third in the SIAC West Division as they host Central State this Saturday, October 19th at 2 p.m. inside Bell Gym.
 
After a series of road matches the Thorobreds are 4-9 on the season and 4-6 in SIAC play. This season the Thorobreds are led by Jaicee Corcoran who leads her team with 94 kills, she is followed closely by her teammate Timaia Sugars who has 92 kills on the season. Amber Gregory is second in the SIAC with 256 assists this season. In their last match the Thorobreds fell 3-0 to Benedict (Oct. 12). 
 
The Marauders are currently 8-15 on the season and 4-9 in SIAC play to sit in third of the SIAC West Division. In their last match they swept Wilberforce 3-0, and were led by six kills from Zahra Coates, nine aces from Naveah Brownlee who also led the match with 10 assists. During that match they held the Bulldogs to just five points in the first set and allowed just 30 points in both the second and third set. 
 
Saturday's match is scheduled for 2 p.m. and is free for everyone.
