FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State football will host the Clark Atlanta Panthers for the 2023 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Labor Day Kickoff on Thursday, Aug. 31, at 7 p.m. inside Alumni Stadium in Frankfort, Kentucky.
In an exciting fourth quarter, the Thorobreds defeated the Panthers 35-24 in their last outing on Oct. 12, 2019. Since 1998 Kentucky State has led the series 11-3, going on a seven-game win streak from 2001-2007.
Clark Atlanta finished the 2022 season 3-7 overall and 3-6 in SIAC play; during the 2023 SIAC Football Media Day, the Panthers were projected to finish tenth.
This year's contest will be memorable as Head Coach Felton Huggins Jr. makes his head coaching debut against the Panthers. He will look to improve on the 2022 4-6 overall record and 4-3 league record. Despite having a better 2022 season than some schools in the SIAC, the Thorobreds were projected to finish 12th.
Tickets are now on sale, starting with general admission tickets for $15 and reserved seating for $25.
