FRANKFORT, Ky. – Seniors
Brooklyn Black and
Kendall Collier and Kentucky State softball hold leads in both games and win the second game of the doubleheader 2-1 against the Salem Tigers Tuesday afternoon inside State Stadium for Senior Day.
It was a special day as the Thorobreds honored four-year seniors
Brooklyn Black and
Kendall Collier, who both spent years as a member of the softball program.
Game One
Tanisha Valdez added her fifth home run of the season at the bottom of the first that scored three runs giving her team a 3-1 lead after the first inning. Salem scored four runs in the following inning to win 5-1.
Game Two
Senior Collier got the Thorobreds on the board early, sending one run in on a single up the middle at the bottom of the first.
The Tigers tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the third inning.
Tayler Floyd singled up the middle to send Andrayln Brown home and secure a 2-1 senior day victory.
Kentucky State completes its 2023 season with a 2-1 victory.
