FRANKFORT, Ky. – A strong Kentucky State fourth, fifth, and sixth inning and a single by
Collier Higgs into right field lead to a 10-9 walk-off against the Oakland City Mighty Oaks Tuesday afternoon in Frankfort, Kentucky.
The Mighty Oaks secured a 4-0 lead early, scoring two runs in the second and third innings.
Kentucky State would tie the game 4-4 in the fourth inning, beginning with a double by Cedric
Poellnitz that sent one runner in.
Kelton Saylor singled, followed by an Oakland City error, sending two Thorobreds in.
Tre Brown tied the game on a single that brought in Saylor.
In the fifth inning, Kentucky State added two runs on a single from Saylor, gaining a 6-4 lead.
The sixth inning was significant for the Mighty Oaks, scoring five runs. Kentucky State responded as
Collier Higgs doubled to send two runners in, and
Treyvon Fletcher singled up the middle to send in Higgs.
At the bottom of the ninth inning, Higgs singled to right field to send T. Brown for a walk-off 10-9 win.
