FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State baseball win's series winning both games of the doubleheader 11-1 and 7-4 while dropping the final game 9-19 in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Kentucky State won the first game of the doubleheader 11-1 and the end of seven innings while tallying eight hits and one error.
Eric Turner earned the win with seven strikeouts and allowed just one run. As a team, the Thorobreds stole four bases as
Daniel Moore,
Joseph Esparza,
Jace Wilson, and
John Hidgon stole one base a piece.
Isaiah Zepeda-Felix and Hidgon both had doubles during the game.
The momentum would continue into the second game for Kentucky State as they won 7-4 with 13 hits and one error.
Daccarius Chapman struck out seven batters to earn the win. Zepeda-Felix and Esparza added a stolen base each, and
Tre Brown added a stolen base to bring the team total to three.
Antonio Chambers and T. Brown both had doubles during the contest as well.
Zion Lewis was perfect(3-of-3) at the plate, paired with two runs and one RBI.
Back to back five run innings led to a 19-9 Clark Atlanta victory. Kentucky State had ten hits and four errors in the loss. Moore led the Thorobreds at the plate, earning four hits in five at-bats, scoring four runs, and tallying two RBIs.
