WEST LIBERTY, W.V. – An 18 point, 58-40 lead in the third quarter (4:16) drives Kentucky State women's basketball to an 85-70 victory over the West Liberty Hilltoppers.
A tight knit first quarter began the Kentucky State advantage, followed by the Thorobreds allowing just 15 points in the second half while scoring 23 to take a 45-35 lead at halftime.
Going into the second half West Liberty closed on Kentucky State taking the quarter 19-17. In the fourth quarter Kentucky State fought and outscored West Liberty 23-16 to win the contest 85-70.
Gracen Kerr continues to find her way on the court scoring 23 points going 100% (6-of-6) at the charity stripe along with four assists.
The Thorobreds out rebounded the Hilltoppers 47-37 as
Erica Jones contributed with 11 of those rebounds.
A Look Ahead
Before the Thorobreds hit the road for conference play they will host in state opponent Kentucky Wesleyan on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. inside the Exum Center.
