WILBERFORCE, Ohio – Kentucky State women's volleyball win's three straight sets to defeat rival Central State 3-1 in Wilberforce, Ohio.
Audi Hicks earned a serving ace in the opening serve, scoring the first point of the match.
Central State took the first set 25-17 after nine ties and three lead changes.
A four-point 6-2 run early in the second set gave Kentucky State momentum early in the second set.
The Marauders tied the game at 8-8, leading to an intense battle between Central State and Kentucky State with multiple ties and lead changes during the set.
Amaya Johnson would tie the game 15-15 on a kill.
Kentucky State gained momentum late but would go into an intense bought with the Marauders outlasting them, taking the second set 25-22.
Momentum favored the Thorobreds as they tallied nine kills to win the third set 25-15.
The Marauder's ship sank in the fourth set as Thorobreds stampeded to a 25-13 victory.
As a team, Kentucky State led the match with 59 points, 36 kills, 13 aces, 34 assists, and 55 digs.
Miana Wallace led both teams will six total blocks, and her teammate
Audi Hicks led with five aces.
Justice Mudd led the Thorobreds with 12 digs as Johnson tallied ten.
