JACKSON, Tenn. – Kentucky State Softball split their doubleheader with Lane College, Thursday afternoon in Jackson, Tennessee.
Game 1: Lane 0, Kentucky State 9
The Thorobreds tallied nine hits, 12 runs and no errors to defeat the Dragons 9-0 and secure another SIAC victory.
Kendall Collier batted
Moana Pinner in on a single to right field, the Dragons answered scoring two runs to take a 2-1 lead after the first inning.
Pinner grounded out to the third base sending
Kailen Olison home and tying the game at 2-2 at the end of the third inning.
Lane took back the lead scoring two runs at the bottom of the fourth.
In the fifth inning Kentucky State the rally began with a single by Pinner sent
Arianna Hill home.
Aaliyah Yates doubled to left center batting in
Tanisha Valdez. Collier doubled down the left field line sending Yates and Pinner home.
Imani Reed batted
Olivia Saylor and Collier to send her team to 9-0 victory.
Game 2: Lane 6, Kentucky State 2
Swiftly into the first inning Pinner sent Olison in to score the first run of the game, the Dragons answered scoring two runs at the bottom of the second.
Pinner added another run in the third inning grounded out to third base allowing Olison to score.
The Dragons scored four runs in the remaining innings to win the game 6-2.
Up Next
Kentucky State will play Lane College on Friday, March 25th to close out the series in a single game slated for noon.
