FRANKFORT, Ky. – On Saturday,
Laurie Thomas posted a double-double of ten points and ten rebounds in a 70-62 loss to conference opponent Savannah State.
How It Happened
Savannah State got ahead early in the first, shooting 3-of-3 from long range to secure a 19-14 first-quarter lead.
Kentucky State would shoot 9-of-16 from the field in the second quarter, with
Taleah Dilworth and
Gracen Kerr leading both teams with six points each. The Thorobreds would win the quarter and go into the half-tied 33-33 with the Tigers.
The Tigers finished the third quarter shooting 75% from long range and would take a 53-48 lead going into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Savannah State capitalized on their second-chance points with six to outscore Kentucky State 17-14 and win the contest 70-62.
