FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky State football team closed out Senior Day with a 63-0 win against the Central State Marauders on Saturday at Alumni Stadium.
Prior to kickoff, the Thorobreds honored their seniors for Senior Day.
How It Happened
In the first quarter,
Jonathan Jerry rushed into the endzone on a three yard run and
Gerardo Baeza would kick the extra point to secure a 7-0 lead at the end of the quarter.
Brett Sylve would score a touchdown on a short run near the midway point of the second quarter, and a good PAT would extend the Thorobreds lead to 14-0 with 8:42 remaining in the quarter.
Shaquan Oliver added a touchdown to the board on a one-yard run to lead the Marauders 21-0. In the final moments of the second quarter,
Isaiah Jackson would secure a rushing touchdown to send the Thorobreds into the locker room with a 28-8 lead.
In the first possession, the Thorobreds would score on a 60 yard run by
Kendon Walker to extend their lead 35-0. Near the midway point of the third quarter,
Jonathan Jerry would complete a 44-yard pass to
DeVon McCoy, adding seven more for the Thorobreds. Late in the quarter,
Christopher Coneway would rush for six yards into the endzone. The quarter would close out on a seven-yard pass from
Jonathan Jerry to
DeVon McCoy that secured a 56-0 lead going into the fourth quarter.
Otis Odom would score the final touchdown for the Thorobreds early in the fourth quarter to secure a 63-0 win against rival Central State.
