FORT VALLEY, Ga. – Kentucky State women's basketball opened conference play with a 68-58 win against Fort Valley State inside the HPE Arena in Fort Valley, Georgia.

Kentucky State would go on an 11-0 run for the final 3:28 of the first quarter to secure a 22-9 lead. The Thorobreds shot 3-of-3 from long range, with
Sydney Thomas earning two and teammate

The Thorobreds would maintain their 37-7 scoring for 12:34, holding the Wildcats to just 11 points in the second quarter. The first half would close out with Kentucky State taking a demanding 41-20 lead.
Success would continue into the third quarter, holding the Wildcats to just eight points for 7:33 nearly the entire quarter.
Fort Valley State would have a late rally in the fourth quarter outscoring Kentucky State 8-25. The Thorobreds would hold off the Wildcats into the final moments of the quarter to secure a 68-58 conference win.
