FRANKFORT, Ky. - The Kentucky State University women's volleyball team secured a pair of wins Friday against the Lane Dragons and Central State Marauders.
How it Happened
Match 1 vs Lane: The Thorobreds swept the Lane Dragons 3-0 in the first match of the Tri-Match. Kentucky State would earn 16 kills and secure a 25-15 set win. In the second set with a 25-15 win and win the final set 25-13.
Robin Poole led her team with 13 kills and four aces. A few others led the team in their respected categories,
Abrielle Jordan led with three blocks,
Elaija Hatley tallied ten assists, and
Stasha Adams led with seven digs.
Match 2 vs Central State: In a four-set match, the Thorobreds defeat the Marauders 3-1. The first set would go to the Marauders 25-21, and Kentucky State would respond, winning the following three sets 25-20, 26-24, and 25-22. For the second consecutive match, Poole would tally 13 kills.
Keyara Brooks would once again dominate with 32 assists.
Shaska Davis would have a strong performance with 16 digs. Jordan would earn five blocks in the match.

The Thorobreds will return to Bell Gymnasium on Friday, October 22nd for community night against Asbury College.
