With four seconds remaining, Clark Atlanta split a pair of free throws to lift the Panthers to the 61-60 win over the Kentucky State University women's basketball team Monday in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at the William Exum Center.
Kentucky State, losers of six straight, fall to 4-9 overall and 1-4 in the SIAC. It marked the third straight one-possession game for the Thorobreds.

Clark Atlanta connected on back-to-back three-pointers over the course of 60 seconds that enabled CAU to trim an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to just two points. On the game, CAU hit just six three-pointers.
Individual Leaders
Sophomore guard
Deja Antoine (Tamarac, Fla.) went for a career-high 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. It was the third time this season, the Florida A&M transfer has reached double figures. She played a career-high 40 minutes.
Senior
Carnethia Brown (Louisville, Ky.) missed just two shots on the day, going 5-of-7 from the floor for 13 points. She added five rebounds.
Senior
Victoria Blankenship (Fayetteville, N.C.) tallied 12 points to reach double figures for the fifth consecutive games, and for the seventh time in nine contest. Blankenship has nine double-figure scoring contests this season. She pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.

"I felt like we played extremely hard," said Kentucky State University head coach
Terrance Slater. "I felt like we gave ourselves a chance to win. We just had too many mental mistakes down the stretch, and too many turnovers will cost you a game."

Kentucky State connected on 5-of-9 from three-point land in the third quarter as they scored a game-high 24 points coming out of halftime. The scoring barrage enabled the Thorobreds to take a 14-point lead with 48 seconds remaining in the quarter. KSU shot just 2-of-7 in the other three quarters.
All seven players played at least 19 minutes with Antoine staying on the court for all 40 minutes.
The Thorobreds committed 30 turnovers leading to 25 CAU points.
