Prior to the game, Kentucky State honored the contributions of three seniors –
Vinsetta Covington (Birmingham, AL),
Tara Jefferson (Milwaukee, WI) and
Brooke Wallace (Oberlin, OH).
Wallace tallied her third straight double-double and her 15th on the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds. She added four blocks in the contest.
In her first game since November 20, 2017, junior
Ka-Leah Ryan (Battle Creek, MI) dropped in a career-high 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting in 28 minutes of work. She added an assist, a block and a steal.
Sophomore
Erica Jones (South Haven, MS) added 10 points off the bench.
Miles scored 10 of the first 13 points of the fourth quarter to open up the game's first double-figure lead of the contest with 4:32 remaining. However, the Thorobreds had a quick gasp in them cutting their deficit to four with 2:08 left.
But, the Golden Bears connected on 11-of-14 from the free throw line down the stretch to secure the victory.
Kentucky State (13-12 overall, 6-10 SIAC) concludes the regular season with a 5:30 p.m. meeting with Tuskegee Monday.
