For the seventh consecutive year, the Kentucky State University volleyball team secured a 20-win season – and they did so in dominating fashion. The Thorobreds dispatched Boyce College, 25-11, 25-11, 25-8, Thursday in non-conference action at the William Exum Center.
It was dispatching so thorough Kentucky State never trailed and were only tied at zero in each of the three sets.
The Thorobreds hit a season-high .452 with 41 kills on 73 attempts and just eight errors. The 41 kills were the fourth-most in a three-set match this season.
Junior
Robin Poole (Katy, Texas) led the team with nine kills on 16 attempts and just two errors for a hitting percentage of .438, while sophomore
Mariah Peachey (Liverpool, Ohio) added seven kills on 11 attempts and one error for a hitting percentage .545.
Freshman
Miana Wallace (Lees Summit, Mo.) hit a team-best .625 with six kills on eight attempts and one error. She added a team-high four blocks, two solo blocks and two block assists.
Junior
Sasha Bills (Mesa, Ariz.) dished out 12 assists with a team-high seven digs and four service aces.
Kentucky State (20-12 overall) concludes the regular season 6:30 p.m. Friday, hosting Central State University in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action. It marks the final home game for senior
