The Kentucky State University women's basketball team continued to play short-handed due to injuries, and the Thorobreds fell to LeMoyne-Owen Monday, 71-53, in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at the William Exum Center. (

Jessie Kee (Indianapolis, IN) pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds and 11 points for her first double-double of the season. Junior
Kiante Butts (Memphis, TN) recorded her third consecutive double-double, and her fourth overall, with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Amani Williams (Scotch Plains, NJ) finished with a team-high 13 points, while senior
Tara Jefferson (Milwaukee, WI) added 10 points.
As a team, the Thorobreds shot just 29.5 percent (18-of-61) from the field and 50 percent (12-of-24) from the foul line.
Kentucky State ability to hit the glass enabled the Thorobreds to register 16 second-chance points. KSU held the edge in rebounding 51-36, and had 21 offensive rebounds.
The Thorobreds (10-10 overall, 4-8 SIAC) step away from SIAC action 6 p.m. Friday, hosting Oakland City at the William Exum Center.
