ATHENS, WV - For the second straight day, the Kentucky State University volleyball team split a pair of games at the Concord Classic. The Thorobreds ended the event with a 3-1 (25-22, 20-25, 25-21, 25-18) win over Lees-McRae. They fell to Kings in straight sets (25-12, 25-12, 25-18) in the earlier game. 
Sophomore Robin Poole (Katy, TX) earned all-tournament team honors.
 
GAME ONE: KINGS 3, KENTUCKY STATE 0
The Thorobreds struggled offensively, posting a negative hitting percentage in the first two sets.
For the third straight game, Poole led the team in kills with six, while senior Arlandria Greathouse (Crowley, TX) added four.
Sophomore Amanda Moore (Caddo Mills, TX) dished out a team-high 11 assists. Freshman Alliyah Williams (Sugarland, TX) had 10 digs for the Thorobreds.
 
GAME TWO: KENTUCKY STATE 3, LEES-MCRAE 1
In one of its most diverse offensive outputs of the season, the Thorobreds put on a hitting display with a .275 hitting percentage for the victory. 
Three players recorded double-figure kills, and two other players were on the brink with nine kills each. Freshman Mariah Peachey (Liverpool, OH) finished with 11 kills, while senior Brooke Moore (Bloomfield, MI) and Poole added 10 kills. Poole completed her second double-double of the season with 16 digs. 
Greathouse and sophomore Jalynn Roberts (Davenport, IA) finished with nine kills each. Roberts was also a force at the net defensively with four solo blocks and three block assists. 
Two other players tallied double-digit digs with Williams recording a team-high 19 and Moore adding 11. 
Sophomore Gabriella Gracia (Trullio Alto, Puerto Rico) and Moore combined for 45 assists with 19 and 26, respectively. 
Kentucky State (4-11 overall) returns to action 6 p.m. Tuesday with a road game at Georgetown.
