BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Kentucky State University volleyball team lost for the first time in the 2018 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament, but all is not lost in the double-elimination format.
The Thorobreds (22-21) fell in straight sets to West Division champion Spring Hill (31-3), 25-12, 25-19, 25-15, Tuesday at the Birmingham Crossplex. KSU plays the winner of Tuskegee/Albany State 7 p.m. CST/8 p.m. EST tonight for the right to play Spring Hill in Wednesday's championship round.
Senior
Arlandria Greathouse (Crowley, TX) finished with nine kills on 26 attempts with just two errors, and she added six digs and two assists. Sophomore
Robin Poole (Katy, TX) added seven kills, a team-high nine digs and five assists.
Sophomores
Spenser Parks (Louisville, KY) and
Jalynn Roberts (Davenport, IA) chipped in with five kills. Sophomore
Aisha Cruz led the team with six assists.
