Kentucky State University Athletic Director
Etienne Thomas has announced another addition to the KSU athletic department.
Â
Cory Minnie will serve as the school's strength and conditioning coach and comes to Frankfort after a stint at football sports performance intern at Duke University. He was also the strength and conditioning at Louisburg College, where he designed and implemented training programs for football, men's and women's basketball, cross country and track & field.
Â
"We are pleased to have Coach Minnie join our Athletics staff and to establish a strength and conditioning program for all of our sports here at Kentucky State. His experiences at Duke University and Louisburg College gives him a great understanding of serving a large population and ensuring success and adapting that same mentality to a smaller population of student-athletes and will help our student-athletes reach their potential," said Thomas. "Bringing in a strength and conditioning coach is another piece of our puzzle as we look to catapult Kentucky State University athletics into the upper echelon of not only the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, but Division II."
Â
He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach.
Â
A 2013 graduate of William Penn University with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education with emphasis in Strength and Conditioning and Sport Management. He earned Dean's List honors following four semesters.
Â
During his time on the playing field at William Penn, Minnie was a two-time, first-team all-conference selection, while earning first time all-district as a senior.
