Box Score Frankfort, Ky. – Kentucky State University dropped their second straight match Saturday night, falling 3-1 (25-19, 22-25, 25-21, 25-22) in non-conference action against Asbury University in the Exum Center.

Sherry'ce Butler had a team-high 15 kills for the Thorobrettes, recording a .256 hit percentage on the night while senior setter
Anjelique Kyle tallied a game-high 42 assists to go along with her team-high 16 digs.
KSU (5-8) trailed early in the first set falling to a 4-1 deficit before going on a 4-0 run to take a 5-4 lead. The Eagles (2-8) took control again, outscoring the home team 7-3 to pull out to an 11-7 lead. KSU would tie the set up at 14-14 before being outscored 11-5 to end the first set 25-19. Â
The Thorobrettes came back strong in the second set, coming back from another 4-1 deficit to Asbury, outscoring the Eagles 7-4 to tie the set at 8-8. KSU and Asbury traded the lead six more times in the second set before the Thorobrettes pulled away following a 4-1 run of their own to tie the match 1-1 with a 25-21 victory. Â
The Thorobrettes' momentum would be short lived as Asbury would take over the match for the remaining two sets, outscoring the Thorobrettes 25-21 in the third set and 25-22 in the final set to earn their second win of the season.
KSU will travel to Albany, Georgia to square off with SIAC foes Benedict College at 10:00 a.m. and Paine College at 12:00 p.m on Thursday.
