Box Score

Palm Beach, Fla.—Kentucky State University volleyball came up short to the No. 1 seeded and No. 10 Ranked Palm Beach Atlantic, 3-0, in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship on Thursday night at the Rubin Arena.

The Thorobrettes (22-18) concluded their fourth straight season of over 20 wins, making the NCAA DII Volleyball Championship for three out of four years. The Sailfish (29-3) continued their impressive win streak to 29 in a row.

Senior setter Anjelique Kyle recorded her team-leading 14th double-double, notching 18 assists and 16 digs in the loss. Senior outside hitter Tahje Ochs set the mark for KSU offensively with a team-high 12 kills.

KSU went toe-to-toe with reigning national runner-up from 2015, as Ochs challenged the 'Fish in the opening set, slamming six kills on nine total attacks. But the strong defense of PBA proved to be too much, closing out each set by more than eight points.

Seven seniors will depart from the KSU volleyball program including Ochs, Kyle, Micah Rogers, Tianna Hayes, Lauren Person, Kirtrice Ploucha, and Sherry'ce Butler.
