Box Score 2 Tuskegee, Ala.—Kentucky State University volleyball went 1-1 on the final day of the SIAC West Cluster at Tuskegee University, with a 3-1 win against Lemoyne-Owen College and a 3-1 defeat by host TU on Saturday.

The Thorobrettes (14-14) went 2-3 over the two-day event bringing their conference record to 10-4 with two matches against Central State University left to go in the SIAC schedule.

KSU will go back on the road to take on Southern Indiana University on Tuesday, before hosting the University of the Cumberlands during homecoming week on Thursday.

Ochs notched 12 kills on 24 total attacks for an eye-popping .458 hit efficiency. Richardson picked up 10 kills along with a season-high five blocks.

Brooke Moore may have been the difference maker for the Thorobrettes as she claimed 33 of the team's 38 assists.

In a hard fought battle with TU, the Thorobrettes were not able to overcome an early 2-0 set deficit to the hosting Golden Tigers.

The opening two sets were as close as they come with the Thorobrettes falling by only two points in each set. KSU answered back in the third frame, to bring the match to a 2-1 difference, but the Golden Tigers finished off the visiting squad 25-19 in the fourth and final frame.

Richardson recorded a career-high 16 kills in the loss while picking up two blocks. Hurley matched her first match performance plus one with 14 digs for the Thorobrettes.

Moore finished with a career-high 38 assists, accounting for all but two in the match.
