Box Score FRANKFORT, Ky. - The Kentucky State University Thorobrettes sent their five senior student-athletes out with a convincing win over Midway College Eagles in the final home match of their careers on Tuesday evening at Bell Gymnasium, 3-0 (26-24, 25-21, 25-19).
The team honored their outgoing seniors,
Latosha Scott,
Emily Grieshaber,
Markeisha Williams,
Chandler Durkee and
Alicia Fowler with a pregame ceremony.
Seniors Scott (13 kills) and Grieshaber (12) led the way for the Thorobrettes offense on Tuesday. Sophomore
Anjelique Kyle distributed the ball for KSU finishing with 38 assists. Junior
Kiara Rivera finished with a team-high 14 digs.
Kentucky State gets back in the win column after a recent four game skid and moves to 20-15 overall. Midway, an NAIA program in the KIAC, falls to 6-22 overall.
The Thorobrettes now turn their sights on the SIAC Championship Tournament in Birmingham, Ala. where the Thorobrettes, the defending champions, will look to secure their fourth SIAC Championship in the last five seasons.
