FRANKFORT, Ky. - The Kentucky State University football team will look to get back in the win column as they host the struggling Lane College Dragons on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Alumni Stadium. The contest, set for a 1 p.m. kickoff, has several exciting themes surrounding the football game.
The game will serve as the final home stand for the 17 outstanding seniors on the football team. The graduating student-athletes will be honored with a pregame ceremony set to begin at 12:15 p.m.
Another exciting part of Saturday's game is the chance for Kentucky State athletics to honor all of the brave men and women of our armed forces. KSU will celebrate its annual "Military Day" game by offering free admission to all former and current members of the armed forces. The National Guard will be providing a tunnel for the players to come out of as they enter the field at Alumni Stadium. Members of the Wounded Warriors Project, National Guard, Marines, Army and Army Reserve have all been contacted and invited to attend Saturday's game.
The contest against Lane is being held on the same weekend as KSU's Fall Open House. Prospective students and their families will be on campus this weekend to learn about what Kentucky State has to offer.
