Box Score 2 ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Kentucky State women's volleyball team played a pair of matches against Great Lakes Valley Conference schools Lewis University (Ill.) and Saint Joseph's College (Ind.) on Tuesday evening at LU's Neil Carey Arena. In their first match, KSU fell to the Lewis Flyers, 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-19) before dropping their second match of the night, 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-23) to the SJC Pumas.
The pair of non-conference losses drops Kentucky State to 19-14 overall this season.
In their opening match on Tuesday, the Lewis Flyers (17-4) swept the Thorobrettes in three sets, 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-19). The Flyers used an effective team attack, hitting .245 as a team, to wear down Kentucky State over the course of the match. LU used 18 different players in Tuesday's match.

Kirtrice Ploucha all finished with a team-high seven kills. Setter
Anjelique Kyle distributed the ball, finishing with 22 assists.
Kiara Rivera led KSU defensively with 14 digs against LU.
In their second match, the Thorobrettes fells to the Saint Joseph's College Pumas (8-13) in straight sets, 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-23).
Grieshaber (14) was the lone KSU student-athlete to finish with double digit kills against the Pumas. Kyle finished the match with 28 assists and
Markeisha Williams finished with a team-high 11 digs.
Up next for Kentucky State is a road trip to NAIA opponent Asbury University on Friday, Oct. 24. The Thorobrettes match against the Eagles is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
