Box Score 4 Atlanta, GA—Benedict College outside hitter LaTayvia Mack was named the SIAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced today. For the second week in a row Stillman College senior Cynteria Jones was named Defensive Player of the Week, while Kentucky State's
Sabrena Rose earned Specialist of the Week honors.
Offensive Player of the Week
Mack, the reigning 2011 SIAC Offensive Player of the Year, had double figure kills in four out-of-five matches at the SIAC Crossover in Frankfurt, Kentucky. The senior from Holly Hill, SC had just 17 errors on 136 total attempts and a .426 hitting percentage, while leading the Lady Tigers to a 5-1 record.
Defensive Player of the Week
Cynteria Jones is a senior from Dadeville, AL. Jones totaled 20 blocks with seven digs and six service aces in six matches at the East/West Crossover at Kentucky State.
Specialist of the Week
Rose, a native of Indianapolis, IN, helped the Brettes amass 181 kills during the Crossover. She averaged 8.50 assists per set and set a career-high 34 assists for the weekend. She also had 14 service aces, including a career-high seven aces against Paine.

Victoria Claytor – Paine (Senior – Outside Hitter)
Claytor had 66 kills, 20 assists, five service aces and 18 blocks in six matches
Katherine Fischer – Claflin (Junior – Setter/Outside Hitter)
One of the top players in the conference, Fischer, totaled 57 kills, 98 assists, 43 services aces and 16 digs in seven games over seven days.
Emily Grieshaber - Kentucky State (Sophomore – Outside Hitter)
Averaged 4.2 kills per set with 32 digs helping KSU to a 3-3 record during the SIAC Crossover. She had team-highs against FVSU (.400 hitting percentage, 16 kills) and a match-high vs. Benedict with 43 total attacks.
Ashley Johnson - Albany State (Junior – Outside Hitter)
Johnson had 57 kills, eight service aces and 23 digs over the weekend.
Danica Lawrence – Clark Atlanta (Senior – Outside Hitter/Middle Blocker)
Led CAU to a 6-0 record in the SIAC Cross-Over Tournament with 38 kills and only four errors (.557).
LaSaunda Spurgeon – Stillman (Senior – Middle Blocker)
The senior average nearly one block per set and 2.5 kills per set. Had 13 kills, 8 blocks vs. Benedict; 10 kills, 2 blocks against Paine
Keierica Howard – Clark Atlanta (Junior – Middle Hitter)
Led CAU with 12 blocks including four solo blocks along with seven service aces.
Kiara Johnson – Claflin (Sophomore – Defensive Specialist/Outside Hitter)
Recorded 26 kills, 20 service aces and 32 digs in seven matches
Raven Kelly - Kentucky State (Senior – Middle Hitter)
Kelly clocked six blocks (3 solo), averaging .33 blocks per set throughout the tournament. She had a season-high three blocks against Claflin and topped off her efforts with four service aces.
Adrienne Morris - Albany State (Senior – Libero)
Morris recorded 53 digs and six services aces during Crossover.
Rachel Walker – Paine (Freshman – Defensive Specialist)
The freshman had 70 digs, 18 assists and 12 service aces over the weekend.
Ashley Jackson – Benedict (Junior – Setter)
The junior setter had 117 assists in five matches playing setter at Crossover. Averaged 23.4 assists in those five matches. Helped lead Benedict to 5-1 record at Crossover.
Jennifer Johnson - Albany State (Senior – Setter)
The senior recorded 148 assists and 18 digs for ASU.
Tracie Moten – Paine (Freshman – Setter)
Moten had 51 assists and 30 digs during Crossover Tournament
Januar Page – Stillman (Senior – Setter)
Page averaged 3.2 assists per set with 22 total digs. Had 17 assists against Benedict, 13 assists twice (8 digs against Paine)
Tyneishah Spears – Clark Atlanta (Junior – Libero)
Spears, recorded 55 digs on the defensive end along with a team-high 18 service aces and six assists
