Frankfort, KY – KSU Men's Baseball Program square off against Eureka College in a regular season double-header.
The Red Devils of Eureka College started the game at bat first against KSU. Eureka was successful in earning 4 runs off 2 hits in the 1st inning to jump ahead 4-0 before KSU's first at bat. The Thorobreds couldn't develop a run in their first at bat. Eureka gained 3 more runs from Shortstop Grant Dewitt, Center Fielder M. Hammerstrand, and 2nd Baseman Aaron Tolson.Eureka led KSU 7-0 going into the 3rd inning. Eureka continued their scoring run with 2 more runs in the 3rd inning.
KSU was held scoreless until Right Fielder Jamaal Duncan scored on a throwing error. Eureka answered back with 4 more runs of their own in the 6th inning, setting the score at 13-1. 2nd Baseman
Kendall Wilson refused to allow KSU to go scoreless through the 6th inning and batted out a run that cut into Eureka's lead, 13-2. Unfortunately, Eureka batted out 6 more runs in the 7th inning to close out the game. The first match ended with Eureka on top, 19-2.
The second match of the double header started with Eureka College at bat first. Both teams remained scoreless in through the 1st inning. Eureka broke the hold first with 2 runs from 1st baseman Tim Cashdollar and 3rd Baseman Blake McConkey in the 2nd inning. KSU failed to score in the 2nd inning while both teams failed to score in the 3rd inning. Eureka started to pull away with 6 runs in the 4th inning, 4 runs in the 5th inning, 4 runs in the 6th inning, and 2 runs in the 7th inning. KSU was unable to score in each of those innings but finally broke the drought in the 7th inning with a run by Left Fielder
Terry Russell on a passed ball. Eureka defeated the Thorobreds 18-1.
