FRANKFORT, Ky. (October 6, 2011) – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced its weekly volleyball honors and KSU freshman,
Emily Grieshaber was named SIAC Player of the Week.
Grieshaber, a 5-11 freshman from Thorntown, IN, led the Thorobrettes with 12 kills and a .556 hitting percentage with just two errors in their one match for the week. She also contributed four digs, two block assists, and one service ace while helping lead Kentucky State to a win over Fisk University in straight sets for their 17
th win of the season.
As of October 6, Grieshaber has amassed 181 kills on 401 attacks for a .289 hitting percentage. She is currently second on the team for aces (37) and has also racked up 68 digs and 12.5 blocks.
Grieshaber is joined this week by Camachio Harris (Paine College), who has been named SIAC Setter of the Week and Claflin University libero, Courtney Person, who has been named SIAC Defensive Specialist of the Week.
