Fatimah Shabazz

Fatimah Shabazz is the head men's and women's cross country/track & field coach at Kentucky State University. She had the interim tag removed prior to the 2018 season. 

She joined the Kentucky State coaching staff in August 2011, and was named Associate Men's and Women's Cross Country/Track and Field Coach in the summer of 2014. Shabazz focuses on throws and long distance events.

Shabazz, a native of Columbus, Ohio, was a four-year track & field student-athlete for the Thorobreds from 2007 through 2011. Shabazz earned All-SIAC honors in the hammer throw (2008), outdoor track and field 5k (2009-10) and 10k (2011) in her time at KSU. In 2010, she was nominated for the USACTFCCA Indoor Track and Field 5k Athlete of the Year after earned All-Region Honors in the 5k event.

A graduate of Kentucky State, Shabazz earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2012. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in exercise science with a concentration in sports enhancement at Concordia University of Chicago.

Shabazz resides in Frankfort.
